Osamu Ise

Artist / Entrepreneur

For twenty years, as the producer Ossam, I built web services and apps such as bokete, and helped others build and run their businesses. After moving to Miyota, I met the tea ceremony and began to paint, and I continue to make my own work as Osamu Ise.

Osamu Ise. Born in Tokyo in 1983, based in Miyota, Nagano. Artist and entrepreneur. After graduating from the Faculty of Economics at Keio University, he joined Nippon Television in 2005. Following a period at Opt, he co-founded HALO Inc. in 2008 and launched its mobile app business as COO. bokete, which he has produced since 2012, has passed 8 million downloads and more than 100 million posted jokes, and received an award in the Entertainment Division of the Japan Media Arts Festival in 2013. He founded PLAY Inc. the same year, and currently serves as a director of Omoroki Inc. and an outside director of NAVICUS Inc. In 2024 he met the tea ceremony and began painting, holding his first solo exhibition “Michi to Asobu” in 2025. He hosts tea gatherings in Japan and abroad.
